Just seconds after we told you about a 17-year-old who was trapped in his own home after someone stole his Wheelchair ramp the phones at Broadcast House began ringing off the hook.

Dillon Shotts suffers from muscular dystrophy and needs the ramp to leave his home. His mother, Renee, discovered that the portable steel tri-fold ramp was missing Thursday morning. She spent the day searching scrap yards to see if someone had stolen the ramp to sell for scrap.

Friday morning, Dillon received a new ramp, thanks to the generosity of WXYZ-TV viewers and WXYZ.com users. He says he is extremely grateful for those who helped return his mobility.

Renee Shotts, who suffers from lupus and diabetes herself, has filed a police report. Both Dillon and Renee are hoping whoever took the ramp is caught quickly. If you have any information about the theft, contact Roseville Police.
